Los Angeles paid sick leave
Local ordinance, in effect since July 1, 2016
1 hour for every 30 hours worked, or 48 hours front-loaded
All employers (employees working 2+ hours a week in the city for 30+ days a year) in Los Angeles must let employees accrue and use up to 48 hours a year. 25 or fewer employees: covered since July 1, 2017. California's state law also applies; employers follow whichever rule is more generous to the employee.

Details and exceptions
- California SB 616 (2024) does not preempt the city's more generous paid sick leave rules.
- Hotel workers and other sectors may have separate rules.
