Missouri has no statewide paid sick leave law in effect.
Details and exceptions
- Proposition A (approved November 5, 2024) created earned paid sick time starting May 1, 2025: 1 hour per 30 worked, with use up to 56 hours (15+ employees) or 40 hours (fewer than 15).
- HB 567 (signed July 10, 2025) repealed §§ 290.600-290.642, effective August 28, 2025. Missouri has no general paid sick leave mandate now.
- The House bill page lists the effective date as an emergency clause, but the Revisor shows the repeal effective 28 Aug 2025.
