- Employers that are neither large nor mid-size are not covered and pay the Washington state minimum.
- Voter-passed Initiative 23-02 (RMC 5.28, in effect July 1, 2024): tips do not count toward the minimum wage, and covered employers may not use state subminimum rates (e.g. minors under 16, learners).
