Maine tipped minimum wage

In effect since January 1, 2026

$7.55 minimum cash wage

Employers can take a tip credit of up to $7.55 an hour, as long as cash wages plus tips reach the $15.10 minimum for every hour worked. An employee counts as tipped if they get more than $191 a month in tips (service employee); $199 from January 1, 2027.

Next change: on January 1, 2027 the minimum wage becomes $15.70 and the tipped cash wage $7.85.
